Firstly, we should ask ourselves one simple question. What is Facebook marketing? According to my research and general knowledge, Facebook is one of the biggest social networks. It has over 1.2 billion of users. An everyday user is familiar with his own profile and likes. An everyday user is usually not concerned with the advertisements that are showing on his screen. He glances at them or maybe even clicks on them, but he never figures out that those advertisements are actually personalised just for him.

We do not realize that Facebook is and can be a very powerful tool in advertising. The creators of Facebook do not provide us with exact statistics. It is said that people between 18 and 29 years are the ones that are using Facebook the most. The use of the social networks decreases with age. However, this may not be the case. More and more people of different age groups are interested in how Facebook works.

Back to the main topic. Facebook provides us with three main tools of advertising. With pages, adds and groups. Everyone can create a page. Its popularity depends on the likes the page receives. When you like the page, you will automatically receive its updates on your profile. Creating a page is free, but it is dependent of the likes. Furthermore, adds are pretty much self-explanatory.

Facebook creates personalised adds; targeting age groups, education levels and devices. Facebook also lets you close an add you do not like. Ads are started to play in between the videos and you cannot skip them. Last but not least, there are also groups, which are like old fashioned forums. However, they have more functions. All those three tools can be really powerful if they are used correctly; however, companies often underestimate them and do not use them to their own advantage, but rather a disadvantage.

In this article, I will provide you with seven tips for Facebook marketing.

  • Target your audience.

    This is the most important advice I can give you. You should study your statistics and study them well, because they will tell you which group you should target. Different ages respond differently to certain adds or products, so you have to be careful when you are advertising. It is important that you establish a good and sincere connection with your audience. So, get to know each other. Like their pages and follow them on Facebook. You will soon start noticing patterns in what they are liking, so you can resond appropriately.

  • Be clear.

    State what you want and you will get it. Do not hide behind affiliate links. Show your intentions. P.S. (An affiliate link is a specific URL that contains the affiliate’s ID or username.)

  • Let others help you.

    Together we are stronger. Remember that. Add administrators to your add account.

  • Images and images

    We are visual beings, so use the images in your advantage. People make decisions based on what they see. If you use images that show results of a diet or of a certain product this will help you sell that product. Use them wisely.

  • Friends.

    Meet new friends. Make new friends. Reconnect with old friends. People are social beings and if they feel included in the group they will follow your advice and they will also pay a closer attention to the adds or your pages.

  • Host a contest or a giveaway on your page.

    We are addicted to luck. We want to be lucky and win something once in a while. Host a contest or a giveaway on your page. You will gain new followers and if the giveaway has the condition that you have to like something on that certain page, you will also gain likes. This is a win-win situation for the both sides.

  • Be consistent

    Post regularly. Do not give up if things are not looking promising from the beginning. They can look grim at times. You have to work hard for the results and you have to believe in yourself. Always remember: hard work always pays off. There is no elevator to success, you have to take stairs.

Seven tips for Facebook marketing are listed above. Facebook marketing is a tricky field. You have to be persistent and you should not give up. There is money in adds and you should be clever enough to know that only hard work and likes will make you earn that money.

You have to try hard and be one step ahead of your target audience. Do not give up. Remember that Facebook is very powerful tool that is constantly connecting people. Do not abuse its power, but rather respect it, because that respect will pay off one day.
